Prof. Wang Xiaogang is the Co-founder, Chief Scientist and President of Intelligent Automotive Group at SenseTime. He is also a professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Frof. Wang was appointed as Head of Research in 2016 and has been leading SenseTime’s R&D ever since. He established the R&D systems in computer vision, natural language understanding, voice recognition, mixed reality, AI content generation, mobile intelligent photography image, general artificial intelligence, decision intelligence, intelligent chips, AI sensors, SenseCore AI Infrastructure and a number of other fields. He also leads SenseTime Research Institute to establish cooperation or joint laboratories with many top universities worldwide such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, etc. SenseTime Research Institute and its Joint Laboratories have published more than 1000 research papers in the world's top deep learning and computer vision journals and conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, etc.) from 2014 to 2023, ranked No. 1 among research institutes and companies worldwide and won over 85 championships in multiple international AI competitions. In 2012, Prof. Wang and his team developed DeepID, the first ever computer system in the world to achieve higher detection accuracy than the human eye, meeting the standards for industrial application.
