AI Can’t Automate What You Don’t Understand

Management thinker Peter Drucker is often credited with the phrase, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” The same idea applies to AI transformation.Organizations may be designed around functions, processes, and reporting lines, but the real organization lives in how people collaborate, make decisions, share knowledge, and navigate unwritten rules. Much of this context is invisible in our systems today. So as we transform with AI, a critical question emerges: How do we capture the culture, knowledge, and decision logic of the organization—and use it to our advantage? If we can make this hidden organizational context visible to AI, we can move beyond simply automating existing processes. We can use AI to improve decision-making, strengthen collaboration, accelerate learning, and ultimately create a more innovative organization.
